"100 Best Spas of the World," has been one of the best spa education guidebooks and educational tools since the publication of its 1st edition in 1998. Currently in its 4th edition, the publication is on a mission to uncover the most Spectacular Spas in Asia Pacific.
The new series of Spectacular Spas books will showcase the top global spas.

Author Bernard Burt consults and interviews resort and hotel developers, designers and architects targeted at upscale travelers that are prime consumers of today's luxury lifestyle products and services.
There are 14 Asian spas in the current 3rd edition of the Best Spas book with Thailand and Bali having the most coverage.
The new Spectacular Spas book will include countries like China, Singapore, Malaysia, Maldives, India, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Guam, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East in its 4th Edition.

About Author

Author Bernard Burt became the founding director of the International Spa Association (ISPA) in 1991 and helped to synergize spa and luxury lifestyle products. His trends column is featured by Spa Management Journal, which co-sponsor Spectacular Spas.
Currently ISPA has more than 3,000 members globally and offers both professional and consumer platforms aimed at expanding the spa market. Mr. Burt lectures frequently on spa management at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration to educate a new generation of spa professionals.
Through its educational programs, international conferences and publications, Bernard's SpaGoer network has set standards of professionalism in the spa industry for the last 10 years.
Bernard Burt has selected a panel of advisors from the Asia Pacific region to look into the heart of what makes a Spectacular Spa stand out. He is celebrated for his independent and uncompromising reputation, and has built up a name for transparency and objectivity.

Spas interested in becoming accredited must host the Spectacular Spas editor Bernard Burt and its Panel of Advisors at their spa facility, make the spa accessible for evaluation and allow an interview for the publication.
On 29 September, there was a Singapore media conference to announce the Spectacular Spas publication. It will also be promoted at Cosmoprof Asia in Hong Kong on 12-14th November and at the upcoming Spa Symposium in Singapore on November 26th. Thailand, Dubai and Tokyo will also promote in 2008 & 2009.
Any Spa in Asia Pacific or the United Arab Emirates can be nominated regardless of size, philosophy, or location. 150 Spas in the region will be chosen.
